To Greg Gisbert’s left is another very young, but awesome lead trumpet player named Eric Miyashiro. I really don’t know how young they were in this Jazz video and I’m not even going to try to guess.

I’ve had the great opportunity to meet both Greg Gisbert and Eric Miyashiro when I was stationed over in Japan. I saw Greg Gisbert playing trumpet with the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All Star Big Band and Eric Miyashiro was performing with a local Japanese Big Band, I just can’t remember the name of the Big Band.

The Big Band in this video sounds great. Let me know what you think!

When you listen to the trumpet solo at first, you’ll notice Greg Gisbert doesn’t do anything extraordinary with his trumpet solo. He just sounds really good on the solo and it’s a real catchy trumpet solo that you’ll be humming to yourself after you listen to it a few times. I would love to hear what you think of this Greg Gisbert solo, you need to own it.
