From SATCHMO to MILES (Sketches of both giants on Channel 202 this morn.

Watched two seperate TV programs this morning.
The first was about LOUIS ARMSTRONG and the second program with about MILES DAVIS.

I was blown away at the HUGE SEA OF HUMANITY that Miles was creating at these summer time festivals of the late 60's and throught the mid and late 70's with his new music that perhaps many today (right or wrong) call----FREE JAZZ!Miles and his followers HATED TO EVEN HEAR THEIR ELECTRONIC MUSIC being labed as the word "JAZZ!"

Gasoline here in the NW is above $4.00 a gallon while in those daze-days, was only around .19 cents a gallon. However I was student teaching music, playing weekend gigs in local dance bands and driving my old 62 ragtop VW and making about $2 bucks n' hour...and moonlighting at a camera shop nights for a 7%commission of my nightly cash drawer intake where I got LUCKY and brought in a huge medical photofinishing account that gleaned me enough commmmmmmmmmission to buy that brand new $1.699.00 BEETLE-SKI-MOBILE.
Gads what memories these two programs brought back to me and just how truthful changes in music reflect the history of time and its humanity?
