hi all
i'm an autodidact trumpet player, have no formal education in music at all.. recently i just realize how important to learn the music theory, so i decide to learn by myself, because in my country there's so rare to find trumpet mentor...i've been routine exercising trumpet minimal an hour/day since i bought my first trumpet 5 month ago.. however, i already know how to play trumpet for years ago, but without music theory at all..

i believe "Practice is a must,More Practice is a worth ,but valuable practice is a key"
i take practice practice practice, but how to make the practice is more valuable for music newbie like me? for better understanding in theory also in skill itself, i know there's no shortcut, but a good method somehow is a 'shortcut' too Smiley

thanks for sharing

Yeah man, stick with it.

You're right that it's not how much you practice, it's how and what you practice to make the most use of your time.

I hear Wynton Marsalis practices an average of 2 hours a day and Allen Vizzutti practices about 4 hours a day. Both are awesome trumpet players and I think anyone that wants to be a professional like them needs to put in at least this amount of time daily.  Cool

Favorite trumpet solo ever -- They don't call me "Sweets" because I play sweet, they call me "Sweets" because I like to eat sweets.
