Hey Everyone,

I wanted to let all of you know that my book, Targeting: Improvisation with Purpose is available. It's going to be featured in "Teaching Music" published by MENC as well as ITG shortly.

The focus of Targeting: Improvisation with Purpose is to show the many different ways to creatively target notes in improvisations. The aspiring musician should have as many tools in their belt to use at any moment for a given musical situation. However, many improvisers wander aimlessly throughout their improvisations because they are not aiming at a specific target. Each chapter will look at targeting with common musical devices to help create a more effective improvisation.

For more information, check out the link below! It's available in a printed/bound book ($16.50 includeds shipping) as well as an Ebook ($12).

I'm currently running an academic special at Jason Klobnak Music (buy 3 get the 4th free) and wanted to let everyone know about it. This special is perfect for those that have studios or teach improv courses. If you need 10 or more, contact me for even deeper discounts.

Of course, individual sales are still available (printed/bound version as well as the E-book version...which looks great on the iPad).

Geared to the beginning to intermediate student, this book starts with triadic and four part chords, and transitions into the concept of voice leading via inversions which is the key to moving voicings in a smooth manner.
