This is a nice duet of Dizzy Gillespie on piano and Arturo Sandoval on trumpet playing for a bunch of kids in who knows where. Anyway, Dizzy talks a little bit about Arturo Sandoval and how great he is on trumpet (coming from Cuba that is).

Favorite trumpet solo ever -- They don't call me "Sweets" because I play sweet, they call me "Sweets" because I like to eat sweets.

Mingus was called the “heir apparent to Duke Ellington” because of his fantastic writing for medium-sized ensembles. His compositions showcased the skill of each of his players, whom he made sure were not only talented, but characteristically unique like himself.
